Maaco, North America’s body shop, continues the celebration of its 50th anniversary at the 2022 Maaco Convention, held at the beautiful Omni La Costa Resort and Spa, with a day of fun, philanthropy and a little disco-themed fun.
“Today was an opportunity to enjoy some fun and philanthropy with our Maaco franchise partners, colleagues and vendors,” said Chris Dawson, paint and collision president for Driven Brands. “We all had an opportunity to give back together, whether teeing it up for charity or packing 200 holiday food bags for the troops at Camp Pendleton, Marine Corps Air Station Miramar and veterans from the surrounding area.”
The Maaco charity golf tournament, held at the Omni La Costa Resort and Spa Legends Course, featured a $1 million-dollar hole-in-one challenge, a par three competition, and competitive fun between franchisees, valued vendors, and industry partners. The team of Jaren Kirkland, Aisha Carter, Campbell Martens, and Ryan Liefer took home the first-place honors. Finishing second was the team of Helmuth Mayer, Chris Dawson and Josh Williams. The third-place foursome was Brandon Michaud, James Strukel, Paul Jones, and David Wilson. All three winning teams donated their prize money to Operation Homefront.
Family members and attendees who didn’t participate in the golf event had the opportunity to enjoy fun fall games, pumpkin painting, hot chocolate, ornament making and more. Attendees also packed special holiday feast baskets, with generous support from local grocer, Vons, for Operation Homefront to distribute to military families in the San Diego area.
The day closed out with a '70s disco-themed Maaco vendor trade show. Maaco franchise owners and more than 75 valued vendor partners donned their 70’s best and enjoyed a groovy reception with the best in disco sound. They also had the opportunity to visit with vendors and learn more about the new products, services, and solutions available for their businesses in the year ahead.
