March 22, 2017—Caliber Collision recently announced that nine soldiers at Fort Bragg in North Carolina have been awarded with a $2,500 toolbox and an employment offer thanks to the MSO’s Changing Lanes program.
Developed in conjunction with Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) and Fort Bragg’s Career Skills Program, Changing Lanes is the first program in the country to provide active-duty service members with training and employment opportunities in collision repair prior to transitioning out of the U.S. Armed Forces. The 18-week, hands-on training course is offered free to transitioning soldiers, and participants earn industry accreditation I-CAR points through a combination of instruction at FTCC and at one of Caliber’s Fayetteville production centers.
A graduation was held for the first cohort class of Caliber’s Changing Lanes program on March 17, at FTCC. All nine members of the graduating class have accepted employment offers at Caliber Collision locations in California, Florida, and North Carolina.
Caliber’s Changing Lanes program will also soon be utilized at Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas, with the first cohort training starting in April.
