June 6, 2011 — DuPont announced the release Monday of a new Standox product which meets the most stringent VOC regulations.
Standocryl Clear PFC 20, a 2.1 clear, is designed to deliver a superior appearance over Standox solvent and waterborne basecoats and designed for everything from spot repairs to multi-panel repairs. The product enables refinishers to apply the clear without the need to flash between coats and it's versatile enough to allow refinishers to use a two-coat application process. It's fast drying and hardening, enabling refinishers to sand and polish after a 20-minute bake and cool down.

The company also put on the first two new courses in a series related to lean practices and facilitated by lean experts John Sweigart and Ron Kuehn. The series, put on by DuPont Performance Coatings (DPC), was aimed at Toyota dealership collision repair shops and Toyota consultants in the southeastern U.S.
Sweigart owns and operates a multi-shop organization which has fully implemented the lean principles. Ron Kuehn is an industry leading process consultant. Other instructors included three local DuPont business development managers, who also have extensive repair center consulting experience.
“Collision centers are becoming very focused on achieving continuous improvement," said George Hogan, DPC business development manager. "It is truly a win-win to offer our customers this training. The more we work as a team to solve common problems, the better we can solve the day-to-day challenges."
