August 23, 2010—The Track Walk fundraiser of the newest chapter of Speedway Children’s Charities’ (SCC) in Loudon, N.H. raised $10,000 on Saturday at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway. The event was sponsored by PPG Automotive Finishes.
The SCC helps fund local non-profit organizations that address the needs of children who have come from broken homes or have learning disabilities or illnesses, according to a PPG press release_notes. The 1.05-mile track hosted 400 paying participants along with a variety of local and national celebrities and special guests, including Joe Nemecheck, a NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver, and all 10 members of the Marshall Family, who recently received a new home from the TV show, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
“We fully support SCC and we do it with great pleasure,” said Bill Shaw, PPG director of business development. “This is a highly motivated group that provides critical funding for organizations that address the educational, medical, social and financial needs of children. It’s rewarding for all of us to know that the effort we put forth and the resources we provide help SCC make a real difference in their local communities.”
