BASF has opened nominations for its Techs for Tomorrow program, which offers five winners the opportunity to attend the SEMA Show and obtain scholarships, according to a press release.
The Techs for Tomorrow program is being done in partnership with TechForce Foundation and is part of BASF’s Talent for Tomorrow program that looks to attract new talent to the industry through scholarships, mentoring, apprenticeships, paint program support for technical schools, and other initiatives.
The five winners that are chosen will receive a $2,500 scholarship as well as access to the industry-exclusive SEMA show in Las Vegas, where they will have the chance to meet a BASF Refinish team member and custom vehicle builders. Five finalists will also be chosen to receive a $500 scholarship.
“One of the biggest challenges facing the collision repair industry in the next few years is a labor crunch,” said Joel Johnson, BASF’s vice president of Refinish Coatings. “We need to find talented people to fill the pipeline as jobs open up.”
