TIA officials say they are “receiving wonderful reviews from tire technicians who are taking it to the next level” by participating. Here are some quotes from the latest classes:

  • “Matt White did an awesome job and I felt the classes helped me appreciate the importance of safe and proper procedures for both myself and the customer.”
  • “Huge wealth of information. The class educated me both on core-concepts and ideas, as well as, technical details. All the supplemental materials are great.”
  • “The willingness of the instructors and classmates to share information and taking the time to make sure all the information is understood is great.”
  • “I enjoyed being able to interact with all the vendors in the class and the hands on portion.”

The Certified ATS Instructor Program is a four-day in-depth classroom and hands-on class that industry professionals must successfully complete in order to return to their place of business to train technicians to prepare them for certification.

TIA has used the train-the-trainer approach to train and/or certify more than 70,000 technicians since 1997.

Certified ATS includes safety guidelines and step-by-step procedures for all aspects of passenger car and light truck tire service including wheel installation with the proper torque and tire repair.

It also includes a full day of instruction on Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS), so technicians have a thorough understanding of the requirements for the most popular domestic and import vehicles.
