Subaru of America, Inc., along with Bob Baker Subaru donated a vehicle for use in advancing education at an El Cajon, Calif.-based Automotive Youth Education Systems "AYES" school.
A 2009 Subaru Legacy was donated to the Monte Vista High School program in Spring Valley, Calif. This is not the first time these companies have come together — they previously donated a 2006 Subaru Legacy to Ontario High School.
Kurt Anderson of Bob Baker Subaru worked with Daniel Page, southwest field service manager for Subaru, to make the donation a reality.
"The payback to all manufacturers through programs such as AYES cannot be measured, it is the future of our industry," Page says.
Monte Vista has an AYES program that is taught by shop instructor Mike Fleming, who is excited about the possibility of having a new car to help advance his students' education.
"The students will be thrilled to have such new technology as well as a turbocharged vehicle for learning," Fleming says.
