The top 10 engines for the China Heart awards were selected by an independent evaluation committee that is comprised of 14 members from research agencies, universities and the media. To qualify, all engines must be manufactured in China, equipped for vehicles made in China and in mass production in China for the current year. Following data research and drive tests, 59 engines made by 34 OEMs and engine manufacturers were rated based on power performance, technologies, market performance, environmental concerns and field judgment. "Congratulations to the manufacturers of these award-winning engines," says Tim Manganello, BorgWarner Chairman and CEO. "As the Chinese auto industry continues to grow, the engine technology offered to consumers is also advancing, offering more environmentally friendly vehicles with better performance each year.
