I-CAR’s Gold Class designation selected as Volvo Certified Collision Facility Program requirement

July 6, 2017
I-CAR's Gold Class designation has been selected as a requirement for collision repair shops to participate in the Volvo Certified Collision Facility (VCCF) Program.
I-CAR announced that its Gold Class® designation, the industry standard for role-relevant technical training, has been selected as a requirement for collision repair shops to participate in the Volvo Certified Collision Facility (VCCF) Program.

“I-CAR commends Volvo and its commitment to requiring the Gold Class designation for its network repairers,” said I-CAR CEO and President John Van Alstyne. “Our partnership with Volvo is yet another example of the value that OEMs are increasingly placing on comprehensive collision repair technical education and training. Volvo’s commitment to training will help ensure that technicians within its network have the knowledge and skills that contribute to performance of complete, safe and quality repairs.” The Volvo Certified Collision Facility (VCCF) Program’s key objective is to ensure complete, safe and quality repairs responding to the increasing technical complexity of the Volvo vehicle line-up. Additionally, Volvo seeks to enhance brand and dealer loyalty. As a result of having properly trained technical staff, participating repair facilities should also see repair process efficiencies that lead to improved profitability. All of these are key benefits that Gold Class repairers demonstrate, and that OEMs realize as a result of their commitment to Gold Class. I-CAR is also partnering with Volvo to develop and deliver Volvo vehicle-specific training that will be required in addition to the standard Gold Class requirements; the Volvo coursework will join I-CAR’s current portfolio of over 35 unique Vehicle & Technology Specific Training courses later this year.
