Quest Specialty Chemicals, a leader in the specialty coatings industry, announced the appointment of Rick Martin as Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.

Quest Specialty Chemicals, a leader in the specialty coatings industry, announced the appointment of Rick Martin as Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately.

Martin has an extensive and successful track record in Finance within a number of global industrial businesses, emphasizing financial and internal control activities, investor relations and risk management.

“I am thrilled to welcome Rick Martin to our executive team,” said Doug Mattscheck, CEO. “Rick’s expertise in managing operational costs and building solid internal controls will support the company’s dynamic growth initiatives to further extend its national leadership position in the specialty coatings industry market.”

Prior to joining Quest Specialty Chemicals, Martin served as Vice President Corporate Controller, Treasurer and Secretary for Hilex Poly Co., LLC, where he successfully led a substantial turnaround. He has also served EMS-CHEMIE (North America) Inc. in the role of Vice President, Chief Financial Officer.

In addition to leading the firm’s finance, human resources and IT divisions, Martin will drive business initiaives by focusing on implementing best practices and processes.

“Joining the executive team of Quest Specialty Chemicals gives me the opportunity to work with the leader in the specialty coatings industry,“ said Martin. “In addition to teaming with my colleagues on the executive committee, I will be focused on assessing, recommending and implementing key business opportunities, to enhance growth and profitability.”

Martin earned an MBA degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Business Administration and Psychology from Presbyterian College in Clinton, S.C. He is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA).

He will be based out of the Quest Specialty Chemicals’ Charleston, SC headquarters facility.
