Moving merchandise through the distribution chain from manufacturer to end user should be easy. But incorrect orders, pricing and shipping happen. A dismal litany of errors happens when information is incoherent, incorrect or incomplete, according to the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA), whose Business Efficiency 101 track of free seminars at the upcoming SEMA Show in Las Vegas have been devised to show manufacturers, WDs and jobber/retailers how correctly formatted and distributed information can eliminate waste and increase profits -- and it will do so in understandable, everyday language, according to SEMA.
Six seminars will help eliminate confusion and give concrete methods through which you can sell more products, the association adds. Top industry experts will help participants compile, organize and standardize data so that every step in the distribution process is precise and logical.
Participants will learn how to improve and perfect product and catalog data; help trading partners eliminate lost sales, invoices errors and gain more business; produce required product information to match industry standards; expand and enhance Web offerings; and learn computer lingo.
The Business Efficiency 101 seminars will take place Nov. 4 through 6 in the North Hall meeting rooms of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
