ST. PAUL, Minn. – 3M’s Dynamic Mixing System has earned top honors as the recipient of the “Best New Product” of Automotive Service & Repair Week (ASRW) 2008 out of 20 new products featured at the International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE) and the Congress of Automotive Repair Specialists (CARS) in Las Vegas.
“3M is honored to have the Dynamic Mixing System recognized as the Best New Product of ASRW,” says Kevin Rickelman, marketing supervisor with 3M’s Automotive Aftermarket Division. “We designed this product with body technicians in mind, simplifying the process of mixing and applying body filler and glaze.”
In the past, technicians mixed filler materials by hand, which 3M says was time-consuming, led to inconsistent mixing, pinholes and wasted materials. The Dynamic Mixing System’s pneumatic, hand-held applicator gun uses a nozzle with tornado-like mixing action to provide a self-contained system that blends filler and glaze with the correct amount of crème hardener and dispenses it on demand – eliminating waste, saving time and reducing pinholes.
“The Dynamic Mixing System was a standout new product at ASRW,” says Ellen Pipkin, show manager for ASRW. “Based on the number of people that congregated at the 3M booth to see this new product, we were not surprised that voters determined the Dynamic Mixing System to be the winner of the Best New Product Award.”
