June 19, 2017
The Advanced Technology & Diagnostic Repair Forum will focus on ADAS and the connected car that is redefining the scope of a proper repair after the vehicle was involved in an accident.

June 19, 2017—The Automotive Service Association (ASA) announced speakers, panelists, and the agenda for the Advanced Technology & Diagnostic Repair Forum. This inaugural event will take place Wednesday, July 26, at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago.

The Advanced Technology & Diagnostic Repair Forum will focus on ADAS and the connected car that is redefining the scope of a proper repair after the vehicle was involved in an accident. Sensors, cameras, accident avoidance systems, and wireless communications are just some examples of new technology that affects repairs. Car manufacturers, insurers, repairers, and technology companies are driving the content which makes this the most comprehensive and relevant program of its kind. The business is changing rapidly, which is forcing everyone to reevaluate training, equipment, operational and repair best practices as well as their interactions with vehicle owners.

All industry stakeholders involved in the collision repair and service repair industries are welcome, including but not limited to the following:

  • Collision repairers
  • Executive and management staff from MSOs, networks and franchisors
  • Insurance professionals
  • Technology providers
  • Service writers
  • Repair Technicians

Some of the topics that will be covered in the ATDR Forum include autonomous vehicles, the use of OEM parts vs. aftermarket and salvage parts, government regulation & legislation, cars as mobile computers, a panel discussion with insurers, and more.
