Youths Shine at Western N.Y. Collision Competition

Auto Collision and Glass sponsored and held the third annual Western New York Auto Collision Competition recently.

Feb. 4, 2019—Twenty-three auto collision competitors competed in the third annual Western New York Auto Collision Competition on Dec. 15, 2018.

The event was held and sponsored by Auto Collision and Glass. Competitors came from seven different western N.Y. BOCES programs. Judges were comprised of industry experts, including last year's senior finalist, Nick Nowicki. Nowicki went on to win first place in the state competition and participate in nationals.

The senior competitors participated in three events, including estimate writing, refinish and color blending, and plastic repair. The junior competitors competed in three events. Those events included parts identification, dent repair and ratio paint mixing. 

The overall, top senior finalist was Armani Rosario from Monroe 2 Orleans BOCES; Rosario also finished first in refinishing and color blending and second in estimate writing.

The overall junior finalist was Evan Harvey of Niagara Orleans BOCES, E. Harvey finished in second place in color mixing, as well.
